On Sunday 14th May 2023 Archbishop Haverland celebrated Mass and preached at The Church of St Deiniol and Asaph with St Giles / Eglwys Sant Deiniol ac Asaph gyda Giles, which meets by kind permission, at Upton Castle, Cosheston, Pembrokeshire, S Wales.
The Revd Gareth Parry from our North Wales Parish in Conwy and a guard of honour for the Archbishop from the Templar Knights Albion – Grand Master Ronald Holme and the Seneschal Michael Smales were also in attendance.
Afterwards a reception was held in the Castle for the Archbishop and Canon Jonathan Foggin, who has accompanied the Archbishop from the USA.
This is the first of two Sundays the Archbishop will be in the Diocese. He will be at the Pro-cathedral Parish next Sunday in Kent.
GM Ron Holme and I (Michael Smales, Seneschal) of Templar Knights Albion wish to pass on our thanks to all on our visit to Pembroke. As is the norm for the congregations of ACC, you are guaranteed a warm welcome which we received at the Chapel of Upton Castle. We had the pleasure of meeting Archbishop, Mark Haverland and Canon Jonathan Foggin on their visit from the United States. Ron and I met up with old friends and made new ones. A splendid lunch was served after the service within the Castle, as GM and I had left at 5am to travel down that was much appreciated. A most pleasurable day was had be all. Once again our thanks to all.
