The Bishop celebrated the Diocesan Chrism Mass on the Wednesday of Holy Week (31st March) at 12 noon at the Pro-Cathedral of St Augustine of Canterbury, Painters Forstal, Faversham , Kent. The service was recorded and uploaded the service to Youtube, the link is below.

It is during the Chrism Mass each year that the three Holy Oils: Oil of Catechumens, Oil for the Sick, and The Sacred Chrism are consecrated. These Oils are then distributed to the priests of the Diocese for use in Baptisms and the anointing of the sick and dying.

The Bishop uses the Chrism at Confirmation and the Ordination of priests and the consecration of various religious articles such as Chalices – and even Church bells.
