On Saturday 3rd May 2014 being the Feast of the Invention of the Holy Cross the XXIII Diocesan Synod was held in Westminster. The Bishop was the celebrant and preacher at the Solemn Pontifical High Mass which opened the Synod in the Chapel of Central Hall, Storey’s Gate, Westminster. The Rev Dr Jonathan Munn (Rochester) deaconed and the Very Rev Charles Johnson (Salford) sub deaconed. The Rev Anthony Chadwick was bishops chaplain.
During the Mass the Bishop received, blessed and dedicated a splendid Processional Cross presented to the Diocese of the United Kingdom by Chris and Cathy Bosworth (Swansea) in memory of their parents :
