Barry George Capper; 11 Sept 1944-22 Feb 2011

The sad and unexpected news that one of the stalwarts of the Diocese of the United Kingdom, Barry Capper, had passed to his eternal rest, was a huge shock to all in England. After suffering from cardiac problems and having had a triple bypass several years ago, he had a heart attack on 22 February and died instantly. He had a boat in Norfolk and had gone there for a few days during the half-term holiday (he was a teacher) to do a few repairs and some fishing. Barry was received into the ACC in 1999 from the Church of England, and continued his service as an experienced and efficient server in the parish of our Lady and Saint Francis, Rochester. He was also the parish treasurer and he served successive parish priests Father Damien Mead and Father Raymond Thompson faithfully. He was a member of the Council of Advice for several terms, had been a member of the Board of Ministry for a number of years, and excelled as a faultless thurifer at Diocesan events. He will leave a void which will be very hard to fill. Our prayers go out to his wife, Valerie, and to his family.
Well done, thou good and faithful servant.
May he rest in eternal light and peace.
