WRIT OF DEGRADATION FROM HOLY ORDERS
In the Name of God. Amen.
WE, DAMIEN, by Divine Permission Bishop Ordinary of the See and Diocese of the United Kingdom of the Anglican Catholic Church, pursuant to the provisions of Canon 10.4 of Title X of the Canons of the Anglican Catholic Church, do by this Document pronounce and declare that:
WHEREAS, the Reverend Mark Morgan, Priest, was by our Writ of Suspension of the Twenty-First day of October in the year of our Lord Two Thousand and Twenty Five, in accordance with the provisions of Section 1.04 of Canon 10 of Title X of the aforesaid Canons, of which Writ he was provided a true copy, suspended from the function of his ministry and from performing any service of the Church, and deprived of any stipend, income, or emoluments from any Parish, Mission, or other such Cure of this Diocese, with immediate effect, pending investigation for the Ecclesiastical Offence of Section 1.01(a) of Canon 10 of Title X “… criminal, immoral, dishonourable, or disorderly conduct of evil report or giving cause for scandal”.
AND WHEREBY the Diocesan Court of the Ordinary convened on Sixteenth day of November 2025 at the Cathedral Church of St Augustine, Painters Forstal, Kent, duly considered the evidence gathered during investigation into the above allegations of violation of the said Canon, a verdict has been given that the aforesaid Mark Morgan, priest, was found guilty by the said court of all those charges.
AND WHEREAS the majority of the members of the Court sentenced the said Mark Morgan to the penalty of Degradation from Holy Order under Canon 10.4 of the aforesaid Canons;
AND WHEREAS Mark Morgan has not given notice of an appeal of either the finding of guilt or of the penalty of Degradation within the time permitted for such appeals under the standing Procedures of the Courts of the Anglican Catholic Church or for appeals in analogous cases in the secular laws of England;
THEREFORE, WE, Damien, Bishop of the Diocese of the United Kingdom, with the Right Reverend Jeffrey Johnson, Bishop Ordinary of the Diocese of the Mid-Atlantic States, USA and the Right Reverend Donald Lerow, Military Prelate, do hereby pronounce the Sentence of Degradation from Holy Order of Mark Morgan, and do direct the promulgation of this Sentence pursuant to the provisions of Canon 10.5.
IN WITNESS whereof WE have hereunto affixed the Seal of OUR Diocese and subscribed OUR hand to this Document on this First day of January in the year of Our Lord Two Thousand and Twenty-Six and of OUR Consecration the Nineteenth.
