Last year our Diocesan Retreat was hosted by Aylesford Priory in Kent. This year saw a smaller, but nevertheless enthusiastic, gathering at Ascot Priory, not far from Windsor, in Berkshire from Tuesday 20th to Thursday 22nd August.
Ascot Priory itself has a very interesting history and has a special place in the Anglo-Catholic history of the Church of England.
We are grateful to the Warden, Fr. Paul McLaren-Cook for his warm welcome. Organised by Fr Andrew Scurr (Our Lady & St Francis, Rochester) the Retreat was led by Fr Miles Maylor (Church of St Deiniol and Asaph with St Giles / Eglwys Sant Deiniol ac Asaph gyda Giles, Pembrokeshire, S Wales) and Fr Gareth Parry ( The Mission of the Good Shepherd & St Tudwal / Cenhadaeth Y Bugail Da a Sant Tudwal, Conwy, N Wales). The theme of the retreat was Retreat to Advance – equipping the faithful.
