The Ascension Day Eucharist was held at Capel Gwydir Uchaf. The congregation was boosted by the support of faithful local Welsh Presbyterians, who came along with their minister, the Revd. Helen Jones. All said they had been blessed by the service and had enjoyed it. Some of the group had been before on two special occasions last year.

The Ascension service was virtually all Welsh, including the sermon and hymns. We are flexible with language at our Mission and services are bilingual as the occasion arises. We must be the only Mission (as yet!) in the ACC that holds services in Welsh. Tea, coffee and light refreshments were served afterwards. Relationships with local nonconformists here are very cordial and we have already been offered the shared use of a chapel vestry in the area, should we decide to extend our mission northwards towards the coast. Fr Gareth has also been invited to lead services and preach at their services on occasions and we value their friendship and support.

We have another such occasion in mind for the first Sunday in October, when we shall have Welsh Evensong as part of out Harvest Festival celebrations.
