Bishop Mead writes:

“As the United Kingdom, and the World, witnesses the aftermath unfolding of the terror attack in Westminster on Wednesday. We pray for those who have died and their loved ones and all involved.

We must not take for granted the debt we owe the Police and Security forces for their bravery and vigilance and for the Medical professionals who responded so quickly. Neither should we lack appreciation for the resilience and generosity of the human spirit in the actions of members of the public in trying to help those so barbarously injured and killed.

As to the perpetrator(s) of this violent act and those they represent and their hateful and wicked ideology, I am reminded of a passage from the Book of Ecclesiastes; Chapter 9 verse 3 (KJV):

“This is an evil among all things that are done under the sun, that there is one event unto all: yea, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead.”

In Time of Calamity. (Book of Common Prayer)

O GOD, merciful and compassionate, who art ever ready to hear the prayers of those who put their trust in thee; Graciously hearken to us who call upon thee, and grant us thy help in this our need; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.”
