On the Feast of St Anselm, being Saturday 21st April 2012, the Diocese of the United Kingdom (Anglican Catholic Church) met in Synod at Central Hall, Westminster.

This year the Diocese celebrates its 20th Anniversary of foundation and we were blessed to have as the celebrant and preacher at our Opening Mass, The Most Revd Mark Haverland, our Archbishop.

The Archdeacon & Dean of the South, Fr Raymond Thompson, deaconed the Mass and Fr Charles Johnson, Dean of the North, subdeaconed.

After the Mass, and a break for lunch, delegates from the Parishes and Missions of the Diocese met in the Broadbent Room for the Synod Meeting.

A highlight of the event was the presentation of the 2011/2012 Bishop’s Award to Peter Russell Smith Obl/OSB.

On the evening before those delegates staying in or near London met for a Pre-Synod Meal with the Archbishop as guest of honour at the Edwardian Radisson Hotel Bloomsbury.
