On Friday 18th November 2011 Bishop Mead was diagnosed with a suspected DVT in his right leg after being taken to hospital with breathing difficulties. On Monday 21st November the DVT was confirmed as were the presence of bilateral pulmonary embolisms. Treatment was begun immediately and, although very poorly, the Bishop is slowly getting better.
During the past 2 weeks he has reduced his work load and is only undertaking the most important duties.
He wishes to thank all those who have sent cards and other messages and for the many prayers he knows have and will be offered.
