Bishop Mead and two lay delegates from the Diocese of the United Kingdom attended the XIX Synod of the Original Province meeting in West Palm Beach, Florida, USA from 19th to 21st October 2011. The Bishop had also attended meetings of the College of Bishops, the Administrative Council and the ACC Trustees on the preceding days.

In addition to the ACC’s own Bishops (including three from the ACC’s Second Province of India) The Most Revd Peter Robinson of the United Episcopal Church of North America was present throughout. The UECNA and ACC are in full communion. Unfortunately, Abp. James Provence of the Anglican Province of Christ the King was unable to attend.

Also in attending was Abp. Walter Grundorf of the Anglican Province of America and Bp. Marsh of the Anglican Church of America. Abps. Robinson and Grundorf and Bp. Marsh addressed the Synod; in addition, all three attended, vested and processed with the ACC’s Bishops, and sat in choir with the ACC’s Bishop during the Synod Mass at Holy Guardian Angels, the ACC host parish.
The Synod delegates heard of ACC work in North, Central and South America, in the Carribean and in Africa, India and Australia and New Zealand. The College of Bishop’s also agreed the establishment of a new Missionary District in the Phillipines.
