History was made today, 7 November, when the ACC offered its first Mass in the Roman Catholic Carmelite Priory at Aylesford, Kent. Twelve people attended the Mass and the Chapter was honoured to be offered the use of the Relic Chapel, which houses the skull of possibly the best known Carmelite, S. Simon Stock, and was the setting for the visit of the relics of S. Theresa (see earlier News item). The Dean of the South, The Very Revd Raymond Thompson celebrated the Mass and preached about S. Theresa, and her life and legacy formed the subject of a very fruitful and informative discussion among the clergy during the afternoon session.
The warmest sincere thanks is extended to the Carmelite Community and to the staff who serve the Priory.
