The Right Reverend Rommie M Starks, representing Archbishop Mark Haverland, was Chief Consecrator at the Consecration of The Right Revd Damien Mead and enthroned him as 2nd Bishop Ordinary of the Diocese of the United Kingdom in a magnificient ceremony at the Chapel of St Augustine’s College, Westgate on Sea, Kent. Bishop Starks, Bishop Ordinary of the Diocese of the Midwest, USA, and Episcopal Visitor to the DUK was assisted by The Right Revd Roger Dawson, Retired Bishop in the Patrimony of the Metropolitan, and The Right Revd Dennis Hodge, Assistant Bishop of the Diocese of Australia and New Zealand.

Father Raymond Thompson (Parish Priest of Our Lady of Walsingham & St Francis of Assisi, Rochester, Kent) was Master of Ceremonies and also as Vice Chancellor of the Diocese represented the Provincial Registrar. Father Charles Johnson (Parish Priest of St Alban the Martyr, Salford, Greater Manchester) served as Subdeacon . The Venerable Joseph DeHart (Archdeacon of the Diocese of the Midwest, USA) was Bishop Stark’s Chaplain, and the Diocese supplied Servers from other Missions and Parishes. The 14 strong Choir was conducted by Mr Richard Mason and the Organist was Mr Roger Wilcock. In keeping with the desire of Bishop Mead the music was chosen by him to reflect the whole of the United Kingdom. The Altar party was led in and out of the the Church by Pipe Major John Spoore RVM, formerly Personal Piper to her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother.

Around 140 Church members, family and friends of Bishop Mead gathered at the Chapel and joined him afterwards in Buffet Reception held in his honour.
