The Diocesan Retreat and Pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady in Walsingham, aimed at enriching the spiritual keeping of Lent. During the course of the week that followed 20 people from the DUK joined in with the regular worship and devotions organised by the Acting Vicar General Father Mead in and around the Shrine and grounds.
Accommodation was self catering at the Old Manse which provided accommodation during the week for a small group who were able to come and go and join in with as much or as little of the planned activities as they wished. Special pilgrimage days were held on Wednesday and Saturday during the week with Sprinkling of Walsingham Water and Solemn Sung Mass in the Sue Ryder Chapel in the High Street, the Rosary and Stations of the Cross in the Anglican Shrine Church and grounds. The Devotions were led on Wednesday by Fr Mead and on Saturday by Fr Thompson.
Representatives were present from Lydd, Rochester, London, Northampton Manchester and Diss.
