The Mission of St Nicholas is a Provisional Mission within the Diocese. The Chapel is the domestic Chapel of our Bishop, The Right Revd Damien Mead, where the daily offices are said and Mass is celebrated occasionally.

Bishop Mead is Rector of St Augustine’s Church, Painters Forstal, Nr Faversham, Kent, where most of our energies are directed however the Chapel provides a focus for prayer at St Nicholas House which also serves as the Diocesan Office.

In July 2015 a new Chapel was established in the grounds of the Bishops home, also in Lydd High street. During the Covid-19 Pandemic lockdowns services were recorded in the Chapel. With the relaxation of restrictions and resumption or public worship at St Augustine’s the Chapel has once again reverted to the bishop’s private domestic use.
