Archdeacons Visitations to Salford and Bolton

On Sunday 19 October 2014 The Venerable Raymond Thompson, Archdeacon of the Diocese of the United Kingdom, made a Visitation to St Albanâ??s, Salford, where he preached at Matins and Holy Communion from the Reserved Sacrament. Refreshments were served afterwards. For eight weeks the church has been out of use while building works to lay a new floor have been taking place, and the congregation have been using the home of Edward and Jackie Wilkinson for their Sunday worship. Grateful thanks go to Edward and Jackie for their hospitality. (The congregation is pictured in its â??cosyâ?? temporary home!)

On Saturday 25 October 2014 the Archdeacon made a Visitation to Our Lady and St Edward, Bolton, where he celebrated the Patronal Festival Mass and preached on the life of Edward, King and Confessor. After a buffet lunch Fr Thompson presided at Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.
The pictures show the altar before Mass, set up in the Cobden Centre, and some of those attending after Benediction.
