Poirot Star Visits the Canterbury Church Shop

On the afternoon of Wednesday 4th December the Canterbury Church Shop & Pilgrims Refectory, in Conquest House, 17 Palace Street, Canterbury, was visited by David Suchet CBE.

The celebrated British Actor attended the 12 noon Mass at St Augustine's Anglican Catholic Church, Best Lane, Canterbury and afterwards had a light lunch in the 'Pilgrims Refectory' with Bishop Damien Mead.

While visiting the Church Shop, Mr Suchet agreed to sign more copies of his new book 'Poirot and Me' which he has kindly provided to help support our work and ministry in the City. (He is pictured with Shop Manager Madame Beatrice Engrammer). Originally we were selling these signed copies at £50 each, but because of Mr Suchet's generosity in giving us more copies we can now reduce the price of the slightly less limited number to £39.99 plus £2.50 Postage.

Copies can be ordered directly from the shop located here:

In thanking Mr Suchet for his support, Bishop Damien, congratulated him on his achievement of filming the entire collection of Agatha Christie's famous Belgian detective's adventures over the past 25 years.

This was Mr Suchet's second visit to an ACC Parish having visited our Rochester Church in March 2012 where he met our Archdeacon, The Venerable Raymond Thompson.

In addition to supporting our work in Canterbury, Mr Suchet has also previously kindly endorsed the fostering agency Credo Care Ltd which Bishop Damien Mead co-established in August 2000 to provide fostercare for children and young people with disabilities and complex medical needs.
