New Diocesan Treasurer Appointed

The Bishop is pleased to announce that he has appointed Mr Philip James as Treasurer of the Diocese of the United Kingdom.

Mr James is the son of Father Thomas James, the Rector of Christ Anglican Catholic Church, Carthage NY, USA, and has been a member of the ACC since 2010.

Prior to this appointment, Mr James visited the Diocese three times. (2016, 2017, 2018) In October 2018, he acted as the Independent examiner of the Church Accounts to comply with Charity Commission requirements.

Having acquired his Associates in Accounting from Jefferson Community College in Watertown NY, Philip is currently pursuing a Bachelor Degree of Science in Accounting. He worked 4+ years in a finance role at a small nonprofit in Watertown, NY, until being offered his present position as a Staff Accountant at a large hospital?s finance department.

His appointment follows the resignation, tendered before Christmas, of Mrs Samantha Hall, who regretfully had to step down primarily due to family commitments.

Commenting on this change of officers, the Bishop said he wanted to thank Samantha for her important work over the past year in keeping the Diocesan accounts. He added that he was extremely grateful to Philip James for agreeing to take up the position.

According to the Diocesan Constitution the Treasurer (together with the Bishop Ordinary and Diocesan Secretary) is also a Trustee of our Registered Charity.

Strictly speaking Mr James is Acting Treasurer until his appointment is ratified at Synod later this year. But we do not envisage any problem with that.

Welcome Philip!

NB: All tithes, donations and payments should continue to be made as usual. Mr James can be contacted via the Diocesan Office.
