Refurbishment of Rochester Church

"I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the House of our God." Psalm 122:1

On Wednesday 26th April, Bishop Mead visited Rochester to see how the redecoration and refurbishment of our Church there was going.
(The Chapel is owned by the British Army's Royal Engineers who have kindly and graciously allowed us to use it for the past 18 years or thereabouts.) The RE's Chaplain and Bishop Mead met recently and this resulted in some amazing work. New heating, lighting, repainting inside and, an impressive, 250metres of wood cladding being replaced outside together with the window sill in the vestry.
New floor covering is anticipated and new chairs in due course.
Commenting on his visit Bishop Mead said "I was feeling rather awkward at the adjournment of services there, while the parish awaited the arrival and appointment of the new Parish Priest Fr Jeen Thomas, but not now, having seen the extent of the work."

The Bishop intends the rededication of the Chapel and the installation and licensing of Fr Thomas, Dv, to be on Saturday 3rd June 2017.
