Diocesan Chancellor Honoured with International Award.

On Monday 5th December 2016 the Bishop, The Right Revd Damien Mead and the Diocesan Secretary Dr Roy Fidge and his wife Mrs Dulcie Fidge attended a Presentation and Reception at the London Head Quarters of the International Maritime Organisation beside the River Thanes in Lambeth, London. The event was to witness Dr Frank L. Wiswall, Jnr., (our Diocesan Chancellor) receive the 2015 International Maritime Prize by Mr Kitack Lim, Secretary General of the International Maritime Organisation. The IMO is in many ways akin to a Maritime United Nations. It was good to see Dr & Mrs Fidge able to attend (Roy recently released from hospital after his illness and Dulcie nursing her broken wrist) and to see Dr Wiswall and his wife Mrs Elizabeth (Libby) Wiswall.
The Organisations Headquarters is festooned with models of various ships and Maritime artwork, including a model of the beautiful Queen Mary 2 (which the Bishop is recently returned from crossing to New York and back on).
After the presentation a reception was held to celebrate the award.
