Bishops Appeal for the Suffering Church

In September 2014 Our Bishop made an Appeal for the relief of the suffering Christians in Iraq and Syria. The appeal raised £550 - which at the time he said may be only a small drop in the ocean but representative of the small size and membership of our Diocese was a generous response.

That Appeal was simply a one off - but the Bishop has been asked to recommend where people who wish to specifically aid Christians in the Middle East (and other places) can make donations.

We divided the proceeds of his 2014 Appeal between:

Canon Andrew White's "Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation"

"Aid to the Church in Need"

Two other Charities doing exceptional work are listed below.

"Open Doors"

"Barnabus Fund"

There are other appeals of course, but he has decided to specifically promote support of the last three because of their focus on our brothers and sisters in Christ throughout the world.

His Appeal is therefore widened to urge anyone wishing to make a financial contribution to consider supporting these Charities.
