Raising Funds For The Congo

The Canterbury Church Shop has responded to a request from Bishop Mead to help try and raise funds for the Anglican Catholic Church's humanitarian and Christian work in that war ravaged Congo.

The Rt. Rev. Steven Ayule-Milenge, Bishop Ordinary of the ACC Diocese of the Congo, recently asked Bishop Mead if he could assist in trying to raise funds for the work of his Diocese by selling some of the hand carved wooden statues of the Blessed Virgin Mary and The Good Shepherd, produced by the faithful, on his behalf. Bishop Mead offered to see if these could be displayed in the Canterbury Church Shop & Pilgrims Refectory and promised 90% of the profit after tax would be sent to Bishop Steven. The price of the statues was set by Bishop Steven and each one is unique.

Bishop Steven took some of these statues to the ACC Provincial Synod in Newport Beach, CA, USA in October 2013 and they were very popular.
