After Mass for St Stephen’s Day, 26th December 2012, the Bishop took delivery,
from the hands of Iconographer Peter Murphy, of the Icon depicting the Baptism of King Ethelbert of Kent by St Augustine of Canterbury. (Pictured left)
The Bishop commissioned the Icon, which will hang in St Augustine’s Church, Best Lane, Canterbury, back in the summer and has expressed his deep appreciation and satisfaction with the finished work. He said “This Icon of an event in the life our Patron, compliments the Icon of the Martyrdom of St Thomas Becket (pictured right) that Mr Murphy completed for us earlier in the year.”
