On Wednesday 14th November 2012, the day in our Kalendar when we Commemorate the Bestowal of the American Episcopate in 1784, St Augustine’s Church, Best Lane, Canterbury, Kent took delivery of a canopy to cover our Bishop’s Cathedra (or Throne). The canopy, made from oak, was installed by Jack Knight and Richard Mulholland and had been paid for by a private donation to the parish for this purpose. St Augustine’s, although a tiny Chapel, has the distinguished honour of being the Diocesan ‘Pro-Cathedral’ because it houses the Bishops Chair.

The Canopy will be blessed on Trinity XXIV (Sunday 18th November).
