The Mission Of Saint Benedict, South Molton, Devon, celebrated its Patronal Festival on Saturday 9th July, "The Solemnity of Saint Benedict" (brought forward from the 11th with the Bishop's permission). Bishop Damien Mead celebrated and Preached at 12 noon and the congregation of 20 people then enjoyed a buffet in "South Street Kitchen" a local Tea Shop. The Mayor and Mayoress of South Molton, Councillor David & Mrs Jenny Goodman, were in attendance.

During the service Fr Michael Clothier, the Mission's Priest in Charge, renewed his vows as a Benedictine Oblate. This year saw his 39th year as an oblate.

The celebrations started on the previous Friday evening (8th) in a local Chinese Restaurant where the Bishop was invited to dinner by Fr Michael Clothier and his wife.
