Sunday 2 November 2008

Wooden crosses were sprinkled with holy water and given to each person present to place upon the final resting place of their loved-ones
The Month of the Holy Souls began in Rochester on the Sunday within the Octave of All Saints, 2 November after Mass and refreshments, when graves were visited for prayers and sprinkling with holy water. A Sung Mass of Requiem for All Souls' Day and a Remembrance Sunday Mass complete with a live trumpet rendition by Derek Lane of the "Last Post" and "Reveille" are all annual events which those attending find most moving.
